Dry Bones Come Alive

In my early 20’s I had an encounter with Jesus and experienced His all consuming Love for the first time. It was as if I was born again, everything was more colorful, and I was full of LIFE and passion as I was compelled by His love. Not long after this encounter I went through some spiritual and emotional abuse that left me in a state of an emotional shut down. I had no context for inner healing or soul health at that time so I figured it would end up getting better with time. For two years I lived in this state, as it became my new normal. Thankfully, it was at this time that I sensed the Holy Spirit inviting my husband and I into a focused time of healing. We leaned in and began to walk that path with the Lord in whatever that looked like for us. Whether through reaching out to someone in the Body who can walk us through inner healing, or God highlighting certain books to read, or even taking a course online, we leaned into the process with God as He healed and delivered us. I want to note here that healing and transformation is never something we need to strive for as it is always within the context of our intimate relationship with Jesus. When He invites into something or reveals something in us we respond. We yield to the process as He does His wonderful work in us both sovereignly and through His body. 

Fast forward to over the last six months I began to have this ache in me to experience and live in that freedom I had once known when I first encountered Jesus, with His eyes of fire.  I was still experiencing a constricting fear that would show up in my life at this time and I was eager to be free. At the same time He began talking to me about Ezekiel and the dry bones passage. I began prophesying from this passage and speaking the words He was giving me to speak. He was also encountering me through songs like “Let it Happen” by United Pursuit and “Revivals In The Air” by Melissa Helser which spoke of things like “You’re full of life now, you’re full of passion, it’s how He made you just let it happen.” And “Take me back, back to the beginning when I was young, running through the fields with You.” And you’ll just have to listen to the whole song of “Revivals In The Air” but I’ll leave you with one line at the end of this article. 

Why am I sharing this? I want to testify of the rebirth He is doing in me as I believe it’s also prophetic for many in the Body of Christ at this time as He is breathing LIFE on dry bones. An army is rising up with that same fire in their eyes of passionate, all consuming Love. The tide is turning, the shame that has kept you locked up and hidden is being washed away as you receive everything He died to give you.

Come alive! Come alive! Awaken to your First Love. He is breathing on you now, bringing you back to the beginning… before the shame, before the pain, before the lies. When it was just you and Him, as in the garden. 

I’ll end with this moment I had recently with Jesus as this ache was growing in me and I groaned to burn again in First Love’s flame. I was in a gathering, we were worshipping, and as I wept I was brought into this moment with Him where I was experiencing that very freedom I had once known. I was with Him and He was with me and as I beheld Him I was also seeing my true self in Him, Hannah without fear. And because God is really into the details, as I entered this transformational moment with Him, the worship team began to play “Let it Happen.” I went to the floor in tears that turned to JOY in this intimate and

liberating encounter with Him. He is reviving and restoring all that was lost or stolen! He will do it for you too.  Your innocence, dreams, passions, your inheritance in Him....
